Getting Quiet Support by Laura Culberg
My teacher Astrid says that getting
quiet, really quiet, is how we can truly know what we want and need.
“Intuition,” she says, “is the most patient of energies….. If we don’t quiet
down and make space for it to show up, our intuition will just hid in the shadows
until it’s quiet enough to show up.” Menopause is a time when many of us
naturally slow down and quiet down. Life changes may encourage more
introspection and our intuition becomes more clear.
Sometimes what our intuition tells us
is exciting and fun-- like you’ve always wanted to deep sea kayak. Other times
what intuition reveals is painful and scary-- like the fact that you’re
desperate to leave the secure job you’ve had for 20 years. Intuition is our
truth, a deep sense of knowing that always lives within us, but shows up more
vibrantly during menopause.
For some women, being around a group,
exposing these truths, can be daunting. It is for me. But what I’ve learned
during this time of life is that I have nothing to lose by getting closer to my
truth. Since I started noticing signs of menopause I have been consciously
trying to be more truthful, with myself and others.
Put Some Claws in Your Pause was
inspired by this truth-seeking. Put Some Claws in Your Pause is a retreat for
women at all stages of menopause to come together to explore our intuition in
the company of other women who are doing the same. I invite you to take the
plunge with me. Having been on this retreat last year I am even more confident
this year that the you will leave rested, inspired and gratified.
